Airbus Problems

Airbus S.A.S is an aircraft manufacturing company having its base at Toulouse, France. Airbus is the producer of half of the jet airliners of the world. Set up as Airbus Industries in the year 1970, the name was changed to simply Airbus in the year 2001 when the company was enlisted as a joint stock company under French law. The company is held by the two largest defense contractors of Europe namely EADS and BAE. The company produces a wide range of aircrafts like A300, A310, A318, A319, A320, A321, A330, A340, A350, and A380. Like all companies, Airbus too has some weak points and these may be called airbus problems in general.

Airbus problems relate to mainly to engineering problems of Airbus. For example Airbus A380 suffers from wiring problem. Also problems were detected in section 19 of the fuselage during trial flights in Toulouse. Due to this problem and the wiring problem the supply of Airbus A380 was delayed by six to seven months. Airbus A350 also suffers from similar problems. The airlines companies are not satisfied with its features, its range, and most significantly they are dissatisfied with the imitating character of the aircraft from Boeing 787. The later is a much advanced fuel equipped aircraft. In fact, A350 was an ill conceived project hurriedly launched in order to counter the threat from Boeing 787.

In order to overcome this problem, airbus has decided to manufacture a new generation aircraft whose fuselage will be made of composite material instead of Aluminum. At first, A350 was a mere modification of A 330. But as time passed by, A350 came to be redesigned a number of times and replaced with new engines, new systems, and more use of lightweight composites which raised the manufacturing cost by billions. A350 is scheduled to begin operations in 2010.
