Ryan International Airlines stationed in Rockford, IL, is an American FAR 121 subsidiary airline company of Rubloff Jet Express. The US Postal Service was the former prime customer of Ryan International Airlines which used Boeing 727 for scheduled cargo services. Ryan International Airlines presently operates non-scheduled as well as charter passenger flights for tour and excursion companies which offer various tour packages. Ryan International Airlines also operates cargo flights for various other companies.
Ryan International Airlines was founded in 1972 in Wichita, KS and initiated its services on 3rd March, 1973. In 1983 Ryan International Airlines started operating charter flights for passengers from Cincinnati, Cleveland, Minneapolis and Atlantic City. Ryan International Airlines, formerly known as Ryan Aviation, was bought once again in 1989 by Ronald Ryan and it started operating flights for the US Postal Service according to a subcontract signed for Emery Worldwide Airlines. In 1983 Ryan International Airlines started operating charter flights for passengers from Cincinnati, Cleveland, Minneapolis and Atlantic City. It began its services of carrying general cargo and fresh fish in 1992 to South Pacific islands including Saipan, Guam and other islands nearby. Till the year 2004, Ryan International Airlines was completely under the possession of Ronald Ryan. In the years 2003 and 2004, Ryan International Airlines used to operate several AirTran Airways flights to West Coast from Atlanta which now have been substituted by the Boeing 737s under AirTran Airways. In 2006, the headquarters of Ryan International Airlines were shifted to Rockford, IL.
