Inaugurated in the year 1969, Houston International Airport or George Bush Intercontinental Airport (named after the 41st US president, George H.W. Bush) is located in the Greater Houston region in the state of Texas and ranks a prestigious 9th largest airport in the US in terms of passenger handling and the 11th largest in terms of cargo services provided. About twenty three miles away from the main city of Houston, Houston International Airport is the major hub of the major American airlines namely, Continental Airlines.

With five runways, Houston International Airport sees more than eight hundred departures in a day, which are easily handled with the help of fabulous and efficient airport staffs. On your first arrival at the Houston International Airport, you will astounded by the unique and impressive décor within the airport - colorful and arty, this gives that extra boost to your travel, bringing a smile to your lips and calmness to your eyes. Houston International Airport is served by five terminals namely:
  • Terminal A - This is one of the oldest, inaugurated in the year 1969 and has a total of 20 gates receiving flights primarily from the American domestic cities and a few Canadian cities.
  • Terminal B - This is also one of the oldest terminals of the airport, receiving mainly domestic flights by the Continental Airlines operated as Continental Express through Chautauqua Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines.
  • Terminal C - Opened in the year 1981, it is the main base for all Continental Airlines operations through the 31 gates.
  • Terminal D - With having started functioning in the year 1990, it operates as the international terminal of the airport, receiving all the different international airlines from all over the world, including South America, Europe, Asia and Africa and other North American cities.
  • Terminal E - This is the most newly inaugurated terminal of the airport, serving as arrival and departing point of the Continental Airlines international flights alone. Continental Express international flights through ExpressJet Airlines are received at this airport.
Passengers can travel between the terminals on the special train TerminaLink and travel out of the airport in buses, coutesy vans, shuttles or taxis, available at the various terminals of the airport, that will take them to anywhere within Houston.
