The city of Tampa is situated on the west coast of Florida (a state that is situated in the southeastern region of the United States.) and it also serves as the county seat for the county of Hillsborough. The Tampa International Airport, which was formerly known as the Drew Field Municipal Airport till the year 1950 is a public airport and it is situated six miles west of the Tampa's central business district.
This airport boasts of its Airside/Landside terminal and it was the first of its type in the world. It also includes a central Landside Terminal and at this terminal functions related to ticketing as well as baggage takes place and it is bounded on all sides by four Airside satellites and all the airsides are connected to each other by the Landside Terminal via the elevated automated people mover that is the APM system.

The Airside A (Gates 1-18) are served by the Air Tan Airways, Jet Blue Airways, Frontier Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Continental Connection operated by the Gulfstream International Airlines and the Continental Connection operated by the Cape Air. The Airside B (Gates 19-30) got closed down in the year 1991, however the Airside C (Gates 30-45) after its demolition was set up again and it was given a new look and the airlines that serve this airside are the Spirit Airlines, Southwest Airlines and the Midwest Airlines.
