Taag Airlines is not only the leading and only airline company heralding the tradition and culture of Angola, but having traveled a long way, it has emerged from being a regional airlines to its current status of a reputed brand in the global airlines industry. A trailblazer in the international aviation industry Taag Airlines boasts of one of the youngest fleets. In addition to the domestic and international flight facilities the airlines also has one of the busiest air freight services. Founded in the year, 1938 Taag Airlines is headquartered in the capital city of Luanda and its major trafficking hub is located in Quatro de Fevereiro Airport, which also happens to be the largest airport in Angola. The sobriquet of Taag Airlines is Linhas Aéreas de Angola, which is more popular among the Angola nationals.
| History of the Taag Airlines: Founded way back in September 1938, TAAG Angola Airlines was initially founded by the Portuguese Colonial Government which was also a division of the Administration of Railways, Harbours and Air Transport. However, there was a complete upheaval, and there was shift of authority from the colonial authority in the year 1975, soon becoming the Angolan national flag carrier. Under the Angolan government, the Taag Airlines was rechristened as TAAG - Linhas Aéreas de Angola or Taag Angola Airlines.

With its consistent commitment to passenger service Taag Airlines has one of the best crews in the industry known for their amiability. The airlines provides three types of traveling classes-First class, Business class and Economy Class. Today Taag Airlines is 100% state owned by the Angolan government and itself holds the ownershsip of the subsidiary of Angola Air Charter.
Based in Luanda, Taag Airlines has a large domestic network and also international flights to other parts of Africa, Europe and South America. With the addition of its fleet, it is also likely to introduce some international flights to countries like China, America, India etc. Like the South African Airways, which happens to be the leader, Taag Airlines has been one of the few profitable sub-Saharan African carriers.
Operations of the Taag Airlines : As of date the fleet of Taag Airlines comprises 11 Boeing and other Fokker planes. While the larger Boeing planes are used for the international flights, the Fokker planes are mainly for the domestic destinations. Although there a few accidents that have blemished the repute of the Taag Airlines, today Taag has flights in some of the leading airports of the world. These include Tambo International Airport , Lusaka International Airport, Portela Airport, Charle De Gaulle Airport etc.
