On 31st August in 2003, KAM Air was founded. This airlines company was founded by Zamarai M. Kamgar. In fact, this airlines company is the first privately owned airlines for passenger service in Afghanistan. In 2003, flights of this airline started operating between Mazari Sharif and Heart on a Boeing 727. The first flight of KAM Air was given to this company by General Abdul Rashid Dostum. This gesture was in the return of fuel and food supply to the Dostum army.
