Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) is a state-owned airline and operates scheduled flights to seven cities in its neighboring countries. At present Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) is operating its international flights to Kolkata in West Bengal, India, Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, New Delhi in India, Gaya in India, Kathmandu in Nepal and Bangkok in Thailand. Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) is based in Paro Aiport, in Paro district.

It must be mentioned here that Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) operates only international flights. There are no domestic flights of this airline available as the Paro airport is the only airport in the country.
Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) was established in the year 1981 by a royal proclamation and it started its operation on January 14, 1983 with its inaugural flight from Paro to Kolkata and Dhaka. Later in the year 1988, Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) commenced its jet services. Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines) is at present the property of the Royal Government of Bhutan.
