Air Mandalay

Air Mandalay is an airline which is based in the city of Yangon in the country of Burma, now Myanmar. The Air Mandalay which is a regional airline operates both domestic flights across many cities within the country as well as international charter flights to many of the neighboring countries. The main base from which the Air Mandalay operates flights in Myanmar is the Yangon International Airport. The airline came into being on 6 October in the year 1994 and began operating flights from 18 October 1994 with the first flight being from the city of Yangon to Mandalay. This was the first domestic flight as well as a regional Joint Venture Airline that was operating in the city of Myanmar. This was set up as a joint venture between the Air Mandalay Holdings Singapore and the Myanma Airways. The first international air service triggered off from 27 August 1995 when Air Mandalay operated the first flight from the city of Yangon to the city of Chiang Mai in Thailand.

On the month of May in the year 2007, Air Mandalay started operating a number of scheduled flights to various destinations in the country. Today the Air Mandalay offers flight services to the cities of Bagan (Nyaung U Airport), Mandalay (Mandalay International Airport), Heho (Heho Airport), Kengtong (Kengtung Airport), Naypyidaw Sittwe (Sittwe Airport), Thandwe (Thandwe Airport), Tachilek (Tachilek Airport), Yangon (Yangon International Airport) and Chiang Mai (Chiang Mai International Airport). The Air Mandalay consists of the fleet ATR 42-320 and ATR 72-210.

One of the things to note about Air Mandalay is that that it offers easy bookings and offers online reservations as well. The Air Mandalay Limited happens to be the regional joint venture airline of its kind in the country of Myanmar. The share holders of this company are the Myanma Airways, Premier Airlines Pte Ltd of Malaysia and Air Mandalay Holdings Pte Ltd of Singapore. The logo of the Air Mandalay is the Royal Hintha Bird which is a mythological bird of the country that signifies a number of things. These include stability, loyalty, good luck, respect for traditional values and prosperity.

The color that is used by the airline represents a number of golden pagodas that is found throughout the country of Myanmar which is nicknamed "The Golden Land". The color used by the airline is Burgundy and this is the color of the robes that are worn by the Buddhist monks who live in Myanmar and thus it shows strong affinities to the religious values.
