There are a number of airports in Myanmar which was formerly called as Burma. There have been huge inflow of travelers in this country always and with the growth in the number of flights in Myanmar the inflow has been hiking ever since. The Nyaung U Airport is one of the Myanmar airports which are operated by the Civil Government; it is also called as Bagan-Nyaung Oo Airport or Nyaung Oo Airport and serves as an air gateway to Bagan and the nearby areas. The airlines that operate in the flights through this airport include Air Bagan (with flights to Mandalay and Yangon), Air Mandalay (with flights to Mandalay, Heho, Yangon and Thandwe), Myanma Airways (with flights to Heho and Yangon) and Yangon Airways (with flights to Heho, Yangon and Mandalay).
| The Naypyidaw Airport which is one of the other Myanmar airports was once called Ela Airport. The airport is located in the town of Pyinmana in Central Myanmar. The Banmaw Airport located in Bhamo is served by the Myanma Airways which operates flights to Mandalay. The Dawei Airport is served by the Dawei Airport, Air Bagan and Myanma Airways. The flights are operated to the cities and towns of Kawthaung, Yangon, Myeik and Maulmyine. The Kalaymyo Airport and the Kawthaung Airport are the other airports. The Kengtung Airport is served by Air Bagan (with flights to Mandalay), Myanma Airways (with flights to Heho and Mandalay) and Yangon Airways (with flights to Heho and Tachilek).

The Khamti Airport is served by the Myanma Airways (with planes to Mandalay), the Kyaukpyu Airport operates flights to Sittwe, Yangon and Thandwe through Myanma Airways.
The other airports of the country of Myanmar are Lashio Airport, Loikaw Airport, and Magway Airport. One of the busiest airports in the country is the Mandalay International Airport situated in Tada-U which is at a distance of 35 km towards the southern part of Mandalay. One of the only two international airports serving the country, the airport handles about 3 million passengers every year. The airlines that serve here are the Air Bagan, Air Mandalay, China Eastern Airlines, Myanma Airways and Yangon Airways. The Mawlamyaing Airport, Monghsat Airport, Myeik Airport, Pakokku Airport, Pathein Airport, Pauk Airport, Putao Airport, Sittwe Airport, Tachilek Airport and the Thandwe Airport also serve the country in flight operations. The Yangon International Airport situated in Mingaladon is considered one of the best airports in South East Asia.
