Bhoja Air

Bhoja Air commenced operations on 7 November 1993. Bhoja Air commenced with services on domestic routes with a dry lease Boeing 737-200 aircraft on the Karachi - Lahore - Quetta being the inaugural route. The aircraft had Pakistani registration and Bhoja Air became the first Pakistani private airline in Pakistan to operate with a Western aircraft.

Bhoja Air was a privately owned airline owned by Bhoja Companies Group. The head office of Bhoja Air Pakistan was at Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Bhoja Air had its Corporate Offices at KDA society. Bhoja Air believed that Karachi was the heart of the Southeast Asia gateway. The company had representation in Karachi with its headquarters in Karachi, the heart of the gateway to the South East Asia.

In 1996, globally acclaimed handling agent group 'OGDENS' with all encompassing complete ground handling equipment came into the scene at Karachi and they could handle Boeing 747s.

In 1998, Bhoja Air in Pakistan had its first international flight from Karachi to Dubai. Later, Bhoja Air operated flights to United Arab Emirates from all the major cities of Pakistan. Its international destinations included Dubai International Airport, Dubai; Abu Dhabi International Airport, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah.

However, very soon, the company faced bad times as it could not compete with other private airlines and Pakistan International Airways. Bhoja Air was not able to keep up with finances and filed for bankruptcy in 2001. On ceasing operations, the fleet size was 2 Boeing 737-200 and 7 Yakovlev Yak-42
