One of the smaller airliners in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Air Bosna is a nascent organization in this part of the world. A reasonably new air operator, Air Bosna has limited operations and a smaller fleet currently. However, this Sarajevo International Airport based airliner has big and ambitious plans to grow and make its presence felt in the fast growing aviation sector in this part of Europe.
Described as the national carrier of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Air Bosna has the B&H Airlines as the holding company. However, the company operates its airlines plannder the brand name of Air Bosna or Air Bosnia as it is known at many places. Both the names though are used at the official website of the company. With the airline in its early stages, destinations covered by Air Bosna are quite limited. And so is the case with the fleet as Air Bosna has a limited number of ATR 72 aircrafts with a seating capacity of 74 only.

Air Bosna has direct flights from Mostar International Airport to Istanbul and Zagreb. Some of the major destinations covered by Air Bosna in the Oceania region are Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia and Auckland in New Zealand.

Since Bosnia & Herzegovina is broadly a land locked country, the importance of air travel is immense. Realizing the significance of air travel in the region, the government is making a conscious effort to promote the civil aviation industry of Bosnia. The development of Air Bosna and its modernization and expansion is part of the process. In addition to, the leasing of aircrafts, training of pilots and air crew with the global aviation majors and up gradation of airports and aviation hubs in the country are all underway.
In addition to, Air Bosna's destinations are also on the rise. The company is planning to enhance its reach to other parts of the region and beyond. Primarily a European aviation company with very limited reach even within the continent itself, Air Bosna is gradually working on enhancing its presence all over the continent. The services and amenities accorded to passengers on the Air Bosna flights include snacks, lunch, drinks and magazines. So far, the airline does have short haul flights mostly which it intends to change with acquisition of new and bigger aircrafts like the Boeings in near future.
