By the end of the 1930s, Aeroflot Russian Airlines previously known as Aeroflot had become the largest airline in the world employing more than 400,000 people and operating around 4,000 aircrafts.

It also became world's first airline to operate jet services on a regular basis. At present, Aeroflot Russian Airlines has embarked on a fleet modernization program with the route restructuring on an extensive basis.
