Transaero |
The
Transaero Airlines is also simply called as Transaero.
It is based in Moscow, Russia. Scheduled and charter flights
are operated by the Transaero Airlines to more than seventy
destinations, whether in terms of the International or the domestic
destinations. The main base of Transaero is Domodedovo
International Airport (DME), Moscow and Pulkovo Airport, Saint
Petersburg. The Transaero got started off with its
operations in year 1990, as the airline first started off as
the charter airline along with the aircraft that was leased from
Aeroflot. Actually it was incorporated as the joint stock
company in the same year and was also the first non-Aeroflot company
that was approved for the scheduled passenger services in the regions
of Soviet Union.
| The
first charter service that was provided by the Transaero Airlines
was Moscow to Tel Aviv in the year 1991. The
Transaero received its own Ilyushin Il-86 in 1992.
It also became the first non-Aeroflot airline, which could
operate flights scheduled to fly to Russia. Soon after the
Moscow - Norilsk flight was launched by the Transaero,
which was followed later in the same year by Kiev, Sochi and
Almaty. Inauguration of the first international scheduled
route from Moscow to Tel Aviv happened in the year
1993.

In the same year, Transaero also became the first
Russian airline to operate western aircraft after receiving its first
Boeing 737-200, which was then followed by another, known as
Boeing 757-200 in April 1994. Transaero has been
also considered the first Russian airline, which introduced the
frequent flyer program in the year 1995. One of the other
important facts regarding the airline is that it was the first
Russian airline to receive the FAA aircraft maintenance certificate
in the year, 1997.
In
the year 2005, Transaero added a flight between Moscow
and Montreal that marked for the first time the first flight
to Canada. However it needs to be mentioned that the non-stop
service to Montreal was discontinued in September 2007.
Non-stop flights were still operated between Moscow and
Toronto in the mid years. The management of the airport
authority is considering expansion plans and the process is still on
for the expansion plans to implement. The daily flights from
London-Moscow are operated under the agreement of the code
share partnership with Transaero.
Special
mention needs to be made of the fact that the on board services of
the Transaero are simply unparalleled and the cost of
flying with this airline, would definitely suit your budget.
