Jersey European Airways Ltd |
Jersey European Airways (UK) Ltd. is the third largest airline in the United Kingdom. The company, which began promotion under "FlyBE" in the year 2002, at present calls itself the principal autonomously owned regional airline in Europe. FlyBE flies about four million passengers per year to 17 domestic and 25 International destinations. The online assistance accounts for the booking of about 80 percent of the total booking. Due to its increase as a regional carrier, FlyBE is exceptional in maintaining headquarters and hub in fairly rural domains. It may be also said that this has helped the airline to reach new heights along with carving a niche for itself. The Managing Director Jim French, of Jersey European Airways (UK) Ltd has rightly put forward the principle of the company, which is, "We are enabling the population living outside London and the southeast to enjoy the same benefits of low-fare travel as the city dwellers."
| With the passage of time and the turn of the millennium, the tourism industry all around the world developed to a great extent. This growth, it may be said has been aided by the service provided by the aviation industry. In the 1950s and 1960s, there was a great development of the Channel Islands as destinations for tourism and this certainly led to the creation of small airlines that competed with the likes of the ships that ruled the world in terms of tourism even before the arrival of aircrafts in the world.

Established in Jersey, the Intra Airways in 1969 operated the war surplus DC-3 aircraft. The Intra Airway had a merger with the Express Air Services (EAS) ten years later and this led to the formation of Jersey European Airways (UK) Ltd. However soon enough, the partnership was abandoned by Express Air Services (EAS). The DC-3s of the Jersey European Airways (JEA) was replaced with a variety of smaller comparatively new types of commuter aircrafts.
The Jersey European Airways (UK) Ltd had employees numbering to about 200 in the year 1990s. In the following year there was huge growth in the number and the service too became much better than what existed. The passenger count too increased to a great extent. The growth of the Jersey European Airways (UK) Ltd saw the inclusion of the new corporate livery as a part of the program undertaken for achieving targets from the 1990s. JEA began flying to London in 1991 from Guernsey and Jersey.
