Lydd Air

The Lydd Air is one of the popular airlines in Britain. The Managing Director of Lydd Air, Jonathan Gordon actually acquired the Lydd Airport in the year 1996 and in the following year, the Sky Trek Airlines too geared up to move up the popularity ladder. It may be said that this is a wholly owned subsidiary of his consultant aviation, the Air Bridge Aviation. It got relaunched in the year, 2002. At present the airline is wholly owned by South East Airports and has about seven employees in number.

The services provided by the Lydd Air are, flights from Air Bridge from Ashford to Le Touquet year round. Charters are also made available to the destinations like, Amsterdam, Brussels, Calais, Channel Islands, Cherbourg, Dinard, Ostend, Paris, Le Touquet and Rennes.

The fleet of the Lydd Air comprises of aircrafts like, Britten-Norman Trislander G-OJAV and G-BDOT, two in number, Beech Baron 58 G-BMLM, Piper Chieftain, three in number. It is also interesting to note that G-EMAX, G-LYDC and G-LYDF. Both G-EMAX and G-LYDC fall in the 10-seater commuter configuration where as G-LYDF is considered in the category of the executive charter configuration.

The Lydd Air flies a compact fleet of Britten Norman Trislander aircraft as mentioned before. Reliable Lycoming engines are used for the providing power to the aircraft. The single-class 16-seat cabin is also configured. Almost all the flights offer window seats and the Trislander is famous for superb view while crossing the English Channel. It may be also noted that scheduled flights also operate from Lydd and Le Touquet Airports besides Le Havre, Deauville, Le Mans, Amsterdam and Antwerp on a charter basis.
