| It initially offered chartered services as well as air taxi services from the Ipswich grass runway. Some of the immediate scheduled services began on 26 April 1986 from Ipswich Airport to Manchester and Amsterdam where a single 18-seat Dornier Do.228-200 was used for the flight. The service was a distinguished one with a feeling of comfortable atmosphere being generated by both the flight and ground staff.

The winter of 1987 saw a huge disaster for the Ipswich Airport, which faced tremendous problems due to the snow, and the initial rainfall, which was quite higher than normal. The main reason was that the grass runaway was getting increasingly damaged by the Suckling Dornier. The damage was greater at the edges of the runaway when it was the time to take that crucial turn for any particular aircraft for that matter. The airport operating company, Region Air complained tremendously that Dornier was eating up the runaway fast enough. In the year 1988, Suckling was finally forced to relocate on a temporary basis to RAF Wattisham before it could find any permanent home at Cambridge. Further expansion led to the extension of the airline to Cambridge, and the airline upgraded to the larger Fairchild Dornier 328.
Some of the scheduled destinations of the Scot Airways are, United Kingdom (London City Airport), Scotland (Dundee Airport and Edinburgh Airport), Northern Ireland (George Best Belfast City Airport). The fleet of Scot Airways comprises of 7 Dornier 328-110, G-BWIR, G-BWWT, G-BYHG that is leased to Blue Islands, G-BYMK, G-BYML, G-BZOG, G-CCGS.
