Cape Air was founded in 1989 and has been operating successfully since then. Cape Air was founded by Dan Wolf who was a company pilot too. The initial destinations of Cape Air was between Provincetown, MA and Boston, MA. The service of this airline was liked by many and it gradually began to grow and expand to many newer destinations in United States and other overseas destinations as well. In places like Florida and Caribbean the Cape Air services started in and around 1990s and there was Cape Air service in Micronesia from 2004. Nantucket Airlines is the sister concern of Cape Air after its merging that has added to the increase in destination of the airline. Cape Air has now grown to become one of the largest independent airlines in the United States in the regional sector. It has been estimated that during the peak or busy season which is during the holidays and vacations, there are more than 800 flights daily. There are round trips to and from a destination due to the demand. The Cape Air services are subsidized by the Government sector in the Boston sector.
