Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines was founded in the year 1934 and had the name Varney Speed Lines. It was named so after the founder who was Walter T. Varney. The Continental Airlines as Varney Speed Lines operated from El Paso, Texas and then went on to extend to destinations like Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pueblo. The initial aircraft model was Lockheed Vega that carried a maximum of four passengers and it later had models like Lockheed Lodestar and the Lockheed L-9 Orion. On 1 July 1937, the Varney Speed Lines was changed into Continental Airlines when Robert Six owned some of the shares. Under the leadership of Six, the airline extended its operations gradually to many of the destinations in the United States and beyond. The expansion in the routes happened after there was merging of the airline with the Pioneer Airlines. The Continental Airlines is based in Houston, Texas and has been rated as one of the leading domestic and international carriers in the United States. The slogan of Continental Airlines is 'Work Hard, Fly Right'. The destinations covered by Continental Airlines are in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific regions and many others.
Continental Airlines has many hubs like the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (in Cleveland, Ohio), Newark Liberty International Airport (in Newark, New Jersey), Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (Guam) and the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (in Houston, Texas). From the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (Guam), places like Asia and Australia and others can be connected. The ExpressJet Airlines, Copa Airlines are also owned partly the Continental Airlines. Continental Airlines have partnerships with many other leading companies in the aviation sector that adds to the business and service of this airline.

The fleet of Continental Airlines consists of 48 Boeing 737-300, 36 Boeing 737-700, 63 Boeing 737-500, 96 Boeing 737-800, 41 Boeing 757-200, one Boeing 737-900ER, 36 Boeing 737-700, 10 Boeing 767-200ER and 16 Boeing 767-400ER. There are many other fleets that have been ordered by the Continental Airlines so that there are more passenger capacity.

The destinations covered by the Continental Airlines are all the places near the hubs of the aircraft. Those that do not include going to the hubs have connections with the other hubs that provides connecting flights to the destinations. There are as many as 120 international destinations and 151 domestic destinations. With trade and economy booming there is the demand to go for many places around the world and hence there are demand for flights to all destinations.
