The Kuwait International Airport is one of the most important airports in Kuwait. The
Airport serves both as a Military base and a Public airfield. Kuwait is one of those countries in the Middle East where there is massive inflow of travelers all round the year. Being a major economy people are always traveling to this country in the Middle East. This airport is operated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the airport from the city of Kuwait. The Kuwait International Airport also serves as the hub of the Kuwait Airways. A part of the complex of the airport is designated as the Al Mubarak Air Base. The Al Mubarak Air Base has the Kuwait Air Force headquarters. It also contains the Kuwait Air Force Museum. The other airports in Kuwait are Ali Al Salem Air Base and Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base
The Kuwait International Airport was renovated and expanded from 1999-2001 when the parking lot was replaced with a much larger terminal expansion. With this new check-in areas came into being. Also, a new entrance was built to the airport and a multi-story structure was built for parking. With all these renovations, an airport mall was also built which had brand stores like Debenham's, Jansport and a Virgin Megastore. A part of this expansion was also a food court which featured a Pizza Express and a Starbucks Coffee. There were other food courts like KFC and Fuddrucker's. All these features make the Kuwait International Airport one of the best airports in Kuwait.

Some of the airlines that serve this airport include the Air Arabia, Air China, Air India, Indian Airlines, Emirates, Jet Airways, Pakistan International Airlines, United Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo. The Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base is one of the other Kuwait airports. This is a Military air base which is operated by the US Air Force and its allies. The Ali Al Salem Air Bass which is also one of the airports in Kuwait. This airport had suffered heavy damage during the Iraqi invasion and can be seen even after 15 years of liberation of the Ali Al Salem. Ali Al Salem Air Base is located about 23 miles from the border of Iraq.

The Government of Kuwait is owns the airport. The Ali Al Salem air base serves as home to the "The Rock" US AFB and the Army LSA (Life Support Area). The US Navy Customs also work in a compound within the LSA.
