The Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport is one of the airports in Lebanon. The Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport is a Military and Public joint airport which is operated by the Middle East Airports Services. This airport serves the city of Beirut. The airport is located at a distance of 9 km from the center of the city within the southern fringes of Beirut. This is one of the commercial airports in Lebanon and also serves as a hub for the national carrier which is the Middle East Airlines. This is the main gateway of entering the country and this is the airport which was awarded the second best airport as well as aviation hub by the Skytrax Magazine in the whole of Middle East.

The Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport was inaugurated in the year1954 which replaced the much smaller airport by the name of Bir Hassan Airfield. The terminal is very modern with excellent features. On June 22 in the year 2005, the Beirut International Airport was again named as Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport to honor the late prime minister Lebanon Rafiq Hariri. At the time, the airport served as a hub to the Middle East Airlines, Trans Mediterranean Airways, Air Liban and Lebanese International Airways. The airport serves as a number of passenger services. These services include Duty free shops, Cafes and restaurants, Airline ticket offices, Banks and ATMs, Postal service, Airline lounges, Internet access, Public telephones, Parking, Car rental and Public transportation.

There are two airports in Lebanon. These airports in Lebanon have many hotels located close by them. For example, the Marriott hotel and the Four Points by Sheraton hotel are located within a few minutes drive away from the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. The InterContinental Phoenicia hotel is also located within close vicinity. The Rene Mouawad Air Base is one of the two Lebanon airports. This is also a civil and military joint airport and it serves the city of Tripoli that is located in Lebanon. The airport is also called as Kleyate Airport and is located in the northern Lebanon near the El Qlaïaat town. The airport was expanded in the 1960s by the Lebanese Air Force.

In November 1989, the airport was renamed in honored of the assassinated president Rene Mouawad. In the 1990s the Lebanon flights were operated by the Middle East Airlines for serving the area of Tripoli.
